The Mutual Commitment Registry

In honor of both National Poetry Month and to commemorate today being the first day that Salt Lake City citizens can go sign up for the Mutual Commitment Registry, I decided today’s blog should be a poem about the process of getting this registry.  And, what better poem than the limerick.

 

How Salt Lake City got its registry:

 

There once was a man named Ralph Becker

Who thought with his brain not his pecker

The fight was well fought

But domestic partner it’s NOT

For that would be a marriage-wrecker

    I just read this to my collegues and we all laughed! I’m not sure if they were laughing at the limerick or the fact that I said, “pecker” outloud.
    Very funny.
